The image shows the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid on the left hand side of the image and the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam on the right.

As their names suggest, The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid and the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam have a lot in common. But, depending on your specific sleep needs, some differences could sway your decision on which one to buy. In this DreamCloud Premier Hybrid vs DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam comparison piece, we'll help you decide which mattress is best-suited to your sleep needs.

The DreamCloud Premier mattresses are the slightly more sophisticated (and expensive) siblings of the original DreamCloud. The DreamCloud mattress ranks highly in our best mattress of the year guide, thanks to its high-quality build at a mid-range price. So how does the Premier stack up against the original, and which version should you buy — the hybrid or the memory foam?

Both have their benefits, which we will explore in finer detail here. Price-wise, a flash DreamCloud mattress sale means that you can save up to 50% off all DreamCloud memory foam mattresses plus an additional $100. That brings the price of a queen down to $949 (was $2,233) for both.

DreamCloud Premier Hybrid vs DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress: Price & trials

  • In addition to the 50% off evergreen sale, there's $100 off the Memory Foam in a rare flash sale
  • Both mattresses come with an generous 365 night sleep trial
  • Both come with a lifetime warranty

DreamCloud is a luxury brand renowned for their high quality mattresses at a competitive price. While we're used to seeing the current 50% off sale, an additional flash sale takes a further $100 off the price of all memory foam models. That brings the price of a queen DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress down to an incredible $949 (was $2,233).

When at full MSRP, the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam is usually over $200 more expensive than the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid in a queen size. However, this flash sale means that you'll pay $949 in a queen size for both models.

In addition to their incredible value, DreamCloud offer industry-leading benefits. You'll get a 365 night sleep trial, plus a lifetime warranty, with every purchase.

DreamCloud Premier Hybrid vs DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress: MATERIALS AND DESIGN

  • The DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam consists of seven layers of different foam
  • The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid includes layers of foam along with an extra layer of coils
  • Both mattresses feature a cashmere cushion top cover

The obvious difference between memory foam and hybrid mattresses is their construction. The best memory foam mattresses are made exclusively of foam, while the best hybrid mattresses use foam and springs, and the DreamCloud Premier is no different.

Both mattresses boast a cashmere-blend cover, a dynamic transition layer, stability base layer and shift-resistant lower comfort layer. Their main point of difference is that the hybrid has an extra layer of springs. The DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam has seven layers of foam , whereas the Premier Hybrid has eight layers, thanks to the additional layer of springs. As such, the Premier Hybrid is an inch thicker than the Premier Memory Foam at 14” tall.

While both of these DreamCloud mattresses use therapeutic gel memory foam within their construction, the Hybrid also has 8” of individually-wrapped coils to provide extra edge support and enhance lumbar support. This coil layer is sandwiched between foam layers to ensure those hard innerspring coils don’t poke you while you sleep.

In contrast, the Premier Memory Foam has extra layers of gel foam and standard foam to increase stability, improve pressure relief and ensure excellent motion isolation.

DreamCloud Premier Hybrid vs DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress: COMFORT AND SUPPORT

  • The hybrid mattress suits a range of sleep styles
  • The memory foam mattress is great for lightweight side sleepers
  • Both mattresses are medium-firm

As their construction differs slightly, so too will the comfort and support of each DreamCloud Premier Mattress. The addition of a layer of springs means that the Premier Hybrid will be bouncier and more responsive than the memory foam.

Our lead tester for our DreamCloud Premier Hybrid mattress review found motion isolation to be pretty decent. As hybrids are bouncier and more responsive, we suspect that the memory foam will be better at limiting motion transfer - which is great news for restless sleepers who share a bed.

Although the Premier Memory Foam has an extra 8” base foam layer for stability, the hybrid model tops the memory foam mattress in terms of support. This is because the separately wrapped steel springs can move independently to provide customized contouring – plus it has the cashmere cushion top cover for enhanced pressure relief.

The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid’s layer of individually-wrapped coils provide the mattress’ main support, ensuring there isn’t too much sink getting in the way of proper, healthy spinal alignment. Scoring an average of 4.2 out of 5 on Amazon, with 66% of its 1,896 reviewers giving it a five-star rating (as of September 2024), The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid is highly rated and praised for easing many users’ chronic back pain. Some couples with different sleep styles have found it equally comfortable, even those who tend to sleep on their stomach.

Memory foam excels at pressure relief. With a softer surface, the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam will hug and mold to your body, taking stress off your shoulders, hips and back. This makes it a great option for side sleepers, especially those of lighter weight, who find pressure building up in these areas.

Firmness-wise, both mattresses are labeled medium-firm and have one firmness level. It is worth noting, though, that the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid is on the firmer side of medium-firm and some people have complained of it being too firm for their tastes.

DreamCloud Premier Hybrid vs DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress: TEMPERATURE REGULATION

  • Both mattresses feature a moisture-wicking, breathable cover
  • The hybrid model is better suited to hot sleepers
  • You can enjoy cooling pillow in the optional discounted bundle

The cashmere cushion comfort cover on both mattresses is a moisture-wicking and breathable fabric that dispels heat to a certain degree. This cooling feature will allow sleepers who don’t suffer from severe night sweats and hot flushes to sleep comfortably.

That said, as is the case with all hybrid mattresses, the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid will feel cooler than its memory foam counterpart. This is due to the added airflow that the coil layer provides. Although the mattresses doesn’t really have any special cooling tech, unlike specialized cooling mattresses, as a hybrid, you can rest assured that it’s going to be better at temperature regulation than an all-foam mattress.

Memory foam mattresses have a reputation for sleeping hot because there’s not much space for air to move around within the thick layers of foam. They also rely on your body heat to change the state of the foam, which allows it to contour to your body but absorbs that body heat, warming up your sleep surface.

If you level up with the discounted sleep bundle, you can enjoy the cool-to-the-touch features of the two pillows woven with cooling fibers.

DreamCloud Premier Hybrid vs DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress: WHICH SHOULD YOU BUY?

Buy the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid if…

You sleep hot: The individually-wrapped springs in the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid allow air to circulate through the mattress, cooling down your sleep surface.

You like to use your entire sleep surface: Hybrid mattresses are known for having stronger edges than all-foam models, which means you can sprawl out or sit on the side of your bed without falling off.

You need extra lumbar support: The mixture of responsive coils and contouring foam offer great support for an achy back by ensuring your spine is supported and aligned.

Buy the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam if...

You have a restless partner: The chunky layers of foam are excellent at isolating movement, meaning you are less likely to feel your partner tossing and turning while you rest.

You crave strong pressure relief: Lightweight side sleeper will benefit from the contouring comfort the DreamCloud Premier memory foam offers.

You're after bigger savings: The two mattresses might be the same price in DreamCloud’s flash sale, but at full price the Premier Memory Foam is over $200 more than the Premier Hybrid.
