Draymond Green Takes Playful Jab at Karl-Anthony Towns, T-Wolves During All-Star Game

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green may not have been selected to this year’s All-Star Game, but he still made his way to Indiana to join in on the fesitivites.

Green slapped on a headset at Gainbridge Fieldhouse and joined Charles Barkley and Taylor Rooks on an alternative broadcast of the game on TNT, throughout which there was plenty of comical barbs between Green and Barkley.

At one point, Green took a jab at Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns, who was heating up late into the game. Towns scored 18 of the West’s last 20 points, and after a late bucket in the fourth quarter, Green joked that the situation was familiar to the Timberwolves of old.

“This is like the old Minnesota days,” said Green. “KAT got 40, they’re down 20.”

Towns led the game with 50 points, but it wasn’t enough to slow down the Eastern Conference’s offensive onslaught, as they set an NBA record for points scored in a game with 211.

Of course, the Timberwolves are no longer that same team, having made a huge leap in 2023-24. Minnesota currently sits atop the Western Conference at 39-16, with Towns and fellow All-Star Anthony Edwards serving as key cogs in the franchise’s success.

Despite their strong first half of the year, Green couldn’t help but take a funny jab at the T-Wolves after watching Towns enjoy an offensive explosion during garbage time.
