The Golden State Warriors destroyed the Minnesota Timberwolves on the road on Sunday night, but the game ended on a sour note for the Warriors as both Draymond Green and Stephen Curry were assessed technical fouls for leaving the bench to celebrate plays.
In response to a spate of issues involving bench players interfering with play, the NBA announced prior to the season that officials would be assessing technicals to any player who stands on the court during live play. Players are still granted leeway to celebrate spontaneously, but the league requires players to “sit back down on the bench in a reasonable amount of time.”
According to the officials in Minnesota on Sunday, Green’s one-footed hop on to the corner of the court crossed the line.

Moments later, Stephen Curry walked onto the court to celebrate a 3-pointer, deliberately drawing a technical for himself.
After the game, Green said he’s received a number of “questionable” technical fouls this season.
“I’ve probably got like four techs this year that’s a little questionable.
…. Told me I was at the lane line, I thought I was standing in the corner. So I don’t know, sucks though. It’s the NBA man, you’re teammates make a good move. I didn’t affect the play. There’s no one near me. So… it sucks. And the fact that that’s going to count against my tech count, like, come on. It’s ridiculous.”
"It's crazy, man."
