Draymond Green gives blunt assessment of Warriors’ recent struggles

Draymond Green has never been someone to mix his words. He tells you exactly how he sees it, regardless of whether it could hurt your feelings. As such, it was not surprising Green gave a blunt and honest assessment of how the Golden State Warriors have been playing over the past week.

When speaking to the media, Green noted how it’s on the team to step up and perform at a higher level. He noted how it’s easy to point fingers elsewhere, but it’s the players on the court that can win or lose a game for their team. His comments came after the Warriors dropped their third straight game.

“We gotta step up,” Green said. “When you’re playing well, people get the credit. … When you’re playing bad, players gotta f****** take the blame as well. We can come up here and point a bunch of fingers. … You can point a lot of fingers. At the end of the day, you play basketball. It’s your job to figure it out and be better. That falls on all of us, and you gotta take on that challenge.”

With their latest loss, the Warriors are 6-5. Their next game is a rematch against the Minnesota Timberwolves, who defeated the Warriors on Sunday. Multiple members of the Warriors roster have started the season in a slump.

Fans hope Green’s no-nonsense approach to leadership will galvanize the team and see it halt the slide before it becomes a worrying losing streak.
