Dramatic moment Scots salon raided after yobs ram quad bike through front door

The dramatic moment when a Scots salon was raided after a group of masked yobs rammed a quad bike through the front door has been captured on CCTV.

Police have launched a probe after the November Collective at Bankton Centre in Livingston was targeted at around 1.20am on Saturday, May 7.

The salon has been forced to close after the thugs stole a number of items and caused significant damage to the premises.

Video footage caught the moment the group of five ploughed the quad bike through the front door to gain access.

In the clip a black MG HS SUV reverses into a parking space at the front of the salon.

A hooded man exits the vehicle before opening up the boot, while a man smashes the red quad bike through the door.

Another three men then leap out of the car before they quickly enter the salon holding large plastic bags.

In a second clip, taken from inside the premises, the five thugs can be seen scrambling about as they take items from within.

Bosses at November Collective say they have been left devastated by the incident.

In a post on Instagram they said: "Our pride and joy was unfortunately broken into by five people with a red quad bike causing severe damage to our front door, meaning we now cannot operate as a new small business.

"We are absolutely devastated to be targeted like this by lowlife people who just want to make a quick buck, but we greatly appreciate all the support and kindness we have already received. If you have any information about the break in please contact the police on 101.

"So much of our stock has been taken, a lot of which is only available to purchase in salons and not online, especially Authentic Beauty Concept which you can only buy in Central Scotland in our store.

"If you see any of these products being sold or hear of it being sold, please contact the police on 101."

Police, appealing for information, say it also believed that the same SUV was involved in a break-in and theft at the Day to Day store, also at Bankton Centre, around 11.40pm on Wednesday, May 4.

The five suspects are all described as white males, in their 20s, of medium build and were wearing dark clothing with hoods up and faces covered with scarves/masks.

Detective Constable Lynn Myles, of Livingston CID, said: “Enquiries into the incidents are ongoing and I would urge anyone who has information or who may live in the area and heard or saw anything suspicious to contact police immediately.

“Likewise, if anyone was in the area and has dash-cam footage, I would encourage you to check your footage for anything of relevance.

“I would also ask anyone who witnessed a group of men matching the description or either of the vehicles to get in touch.

“Finally, if anyone comes across the sale of hair products and alcohol in the area, which was stolen during the incidents, then please contact officers.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 0823 of May 7, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
