This is the dramatic moment a BMW 'exploded' as it was engulfed in flames following a 'suspected arson attack'. Witnesses reported seeing a man pouring what's thought to have been petrol on the car moments before the blaze.
Video from the scene shows the vehicle on fire as its parked on the street in Belle Vue, east Manchester on Monday night. Two loud explosions can be heard moments before firefighters arrive on the scene on Collington Close.
One witness said: "I was sleeping when I heard all the people outside shouting that a car was on fire. I didn't see it but some people said they saw a guy pouring petrol on the car before running off. There was a fuel bottle next to the car.

"You could hear like exploding noises. There was no-one inside thankfully, so no-one was injured. A bit of the fence next to the car was burnt as well."
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Just before 11.30pm on Monday one fire engine from Gorton fire station was called to reports of a vehicle fire on Colington Close, Manchester. The crew arrived quickly at scene.
"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to extinguish the fire. Firefighters were in attendance for around half an hour."
Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for a comment.
