There were tears on the Gogglebox sofas and from those watching at home during Friday evening’s edition of the Channel 4 programme.
Many of the regulars were very sad during a segment on the reality TV show where they watched a nature documentary. The clip from Tom Hiddleston-narrated show, called Big Beasts, followed an octopus which died after laying its eggs.
Many fans took to Twitter to share their teary-eyed observations. One viewer @_mollierust said: “Never thought an octopus would reduce me to tears but here we are #gogglebox.”

Pairing Roisin and Joe were particularly moved with what they watched. Channel 4 Gogglebox star Roisin joked she’d need to grab the tissues to help deal with any tears.
