Dramatic footage shows CARNAGE after BMW ploughs through front of restaurant

Dramatic footage shows the moments just after a BMW ploughed through the front of a restaurant on a busy road.

The car smashed through the front windows of the Red Chilli restaurant on Oxford Road in Manchester city centre at around 9pm last night. The clip, which appears to have been taken inside the restaurant, shows a huge pane of smashed glass resting on the car after the crash.

Some railings and parts of the walls of the restaurant also appeared to have been left damaged. This morning, pictures taken at the scene showed a huge pile of smashed glass outside the restaurant.

An area off the pavement outside Red Chilli remained cordoned off. The restaurant is currently closed.

After the incident last night, police closed off the pavement outside the eatery at the junction with Grafton Street. Fire crews were also called to the scene to help rescue three men.

They were then looked after by paramedics. Police said the extent of their injuries 'is not yet known'.
