Drake Maye believes one Patriots player is worthy of an All-Pro nod

New England Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez would love to earn his first-ever Pro Bowl nod this season, but quarterback Drake Maye believes he deserves even higher recognition.

“Shoot, Pro Bowl? Should be All-Pro,” Maye said on Gonzalez, during a locker room moment ahead of the Week 15 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, per Patriots.com’s Evan Lazar.

Gonzalez has looked phenomenal in one-on-one matchups against some of the best receivers in the league. He shut down Cardinals star rookie wideout Marvin Harrison Jr. by denying him on multiple touchdown attempts. In only his second NFL season, he is proving to be one of the top corners in the league.

It would be difficult to imagine a Pro Bowl without Gonzalez, but an All-Pro nod would be more fitting considering the incredible season he’s had for the Patriots.

His time will come at some point regardless as he continues to improve his craft and hit his peak at the next level.
