Drake fans were thrilled on Thursday as the superstar announced a surprise new album - and revealed it was set to drop imminently.
The rapper took to Instagram on Thursday to inform his fans of the exciting news and within two hours over two million followers had liked the post, including Kanye West.
Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, posted an image of the CD cover alongside the caption: "7th studio album “HONESTLY, NEVERMIND” out at midnight."
Among those leaving comments was DJ Khaled who wrote: "Get your spritzers ready."
American rapper Lil Yachty also said: "It’s your time to shine jimmy brooks," while actress Bella Thorne responded with a number of flame emojis.
Drake's last album, Certified Lover Boy, was released in September last year and quickly shot to number one on the Billboard 200 chart, overtaking rival Kanye West's Donda album.
The award-winning album was his first full-length follow up to his 2018 album titled Scorpion and was released via his own imprint OVO Sound under license to Republic Records.
It featured appearances by Jay-Z, Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, and more and his newest take is said to include the likes of Ariana Grande.
He first sparked new album rumours earlier in they year when he started to share snaps of him and producer Carnage together in the studio.
The Toronto native kept fans in the dark over any other news about his new album but he’s expected to share more details on the surprise effort during the premiere episode of his SiriusXM radio show Table For One.
Fans on Twitter were loving the announcement and couldn't help but share their excitement.
One user gushed: "WOW Drake dropping a new album as my graduation present is the best."
Another commented: "i literally woke up to drake announcing a new album …. God is great!"
A third said: "First Beyoncé giving us some new music this summer and now we are also getting some new Drake tonight."
And a fourth wrote: "I need this new drake to be fire. im excited for that."
