Drake was able to end a bad losing streak of bets this weekend, as he won back losses from the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight on Friday thanks to a Jon Jones technical knockout at UFC 309.
Jon Jones Saves Drake
The Drake ‘curse’ continued on Friday night, as the superstar rapper sided with ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson against Jake Paul in their heavyweight boxing clash at AT&T Stadium.
Tyson vs Paul couldn’t have gone much worse for Drake though, as youth prevailed over experience and Paul comfortably won via a unanimous decision after eight rounds.
Drake lost a total of $355,000 on 58-year-old Mike Tyson on Friday, missing out on a total payout of just over $1million.
The Drake curse is infamous in almost all sports these days, with the trend originating when fans began to notice that most of the selections he bets on end up losing just hours after posting his predictions.
But Drake isn’t one to just stop his huge wagers after a loss and the rapper took to Instagram on Saturday night to share his latest wager of the year with an eye-watering sum on UFC 309.
Drake chose to back the short odds betting favourite in the UFC 309 main event, posting a $450,000 bet on Jon Jones to beat Stipe Miocic via KO or TKO.

His bet on the UFC ended much better than Friday’s boxing bet, with Drake pocketing a total of $954,000 in winnings after Jones crushed Miocic.
Drake might have been getting nervous as the fight entered its third round and Jones still hadn’t knocked out his opponent but with seconds left in the round, Jones pulled off a punishing move on Miocic.
After a lethal spininng kick to the stomach Miocic doubled over and Jones made his advantage pay with a brutal technical knockout to end the fight and secure Drake’s win.

With his $954,000 returns on Jon Jones, Drake was able to wipe out his losses on the weekend, ending $149,000 in profit after a disastrous start.
Although Jones was able to briefly end the Drake curse in his win, it is surely only a matter of time before the rapper places another wager that ‘curses’ a sporting event.
