Twin Peaks Star Wrote “The Worst Of All Support Letters” For His Abuser, Drake Bell Says

Trigger warning: sexual abuse

Drake Bell has just called out Twin Peaks star Kimmy Robertson for writing “the worst of all support letters” to his abuser, Brian Peck.

Taking to his Instagram page on Wednesday (April 3), the former Nickelodeon star, an alleged victim of Brian, shared on his story two pictures Kimmy had previously shared on her own Instagram page.

The first picture showed Kimmy, back in February, posing in the snow, wishing her followers a “happy Twin Peaks Day everybody.” He accompanied the snap with a text reading: “Wrote the worst of all support letters for my abuser.”

The second picture consisted of a selfie of Kimmy posing with Brian, which Drake captioned: “proudly displayed on her Instagram.”

According to court documents exposed on Reddit and Business Insider (BI), in 2004, Kimmy had written a letter in support of the disgraced acting coach, which read: “To The Honorable Michael Hoff, I have known Brian since 1981.”

“We were both in our first movie together.

“We both played nerds so none of the other cast members Talked to us because they thought we really were nerds.

“So we spent the six weeks it took to shoot the film, The Last American Virgin, together.

“I was struck by how nice Brian was, he was totally generous with his time and advice, I had never acted before and he helped me do everything.”

In the letter, the 69-year-old actress went on to describe Brian as her “best friend” who had become “like her family.”

She wrote: “Sharing holidays at my house with his parents and my parents, going on vacations together, making our way in this business, and avoiding all the rotten people that are so attracted to acting, and actors.”

In her letter, Kimmy speculated about Drake’s character and how “gay” workers wouldn’t be left alone in the room with him.

The actress further claimed that Drake had taken advantage of “Brian’s willingness to help anyone who needs it.”

She pleaded with the judge: “I beg of you to try to see the truth of this event.

“I ask you to interview any of Brian’s friends.

Kimmy insinuated that Drake took advantage of Brian and that it was Drake who conducted himself in a questionable way

“I wish you to talk to my friend Brian and see the rarity of an honest, sweet, and caring man.

“Please call me if you’d like.

“I am at your service in defense of my friend – Brian Peck.”

Drake recalled being sexually assaulted by Brian on Investigation Discovery’s four-part docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, which exposed unsettling behind-the-scenes activity at Nickelodeon and the people who turned a blind eye to it.

In episodes three and four, which were released last month, the musician opened up for the first time about being sexually abused by a Nickelodeon employee when he was 15 years old.

The acting coach was arrested in August 2003 on 11 charges of child sexual abuse. In October 2004, he was sentenced to 16 months in jail and ordered to register as a sex offender, BI reported.

Nevertheless, 41 friends and family members, including famous figures, wrote letters in support of the convicted rapist before the judge sentenced him.

The letters were sealed until Maxine Productions, one of the docuseries’ producers, successfully petitioned the court to unseal them in 2023, BI reported.

Bored Panda contacted both Drake and Kimmy’s respective representatives for comment.

A Los Angeles Police Department press release published in August 2003 revealed: “Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Sexually Exploited Child Unit, Juvenile Division, arrested 43-year-old Brian Richard Peck at his residence in Valley Glen.

“He was arrested for Penal Code section 288 (c)(1), Lewd Acts with a Child.”

“The lewd acts with the minor occurred approximately two years ago at Peck’s residence in the 13000 block of Delano Street, Valley Glen. At the time, Peck was coaching the victim.

“The investigation into Peck began two weeks ago when the minor’s family reported that Peck had molested the child over a six-month period.”

At the time, Brian had been working as a dialect coach with the unnamed 15-year-old star before being reported to the police by the boy’s parents.

Court documents revealed that Brian was originally charged with 11 counts, including lewd acts upon a child, sodomy of a person under 16, attempted sodomy of a person under 16, sexual penetration by a foreign object, four counts of oral copulation of a person under 16, oral copulation by anesthesia or controlled substance, sending harmful matter, and using a minor for sex acts.

In the Quiet on Set docuseries, Drake said that he would often spend the night at Brian’s house, but “everything changed with Brian one morning.”

The actor alleged: “I was sleeping on the couch where I would usually sleep.

“I woke up to him, I opened my eyes, I woke up, and he was sexually assaulting me.

“I froze and was in complete shock and had no idea what to do or how to react, and I [had] no idea how to get out of this situation.

“He figured out how to convince my mom and everyone around to, anytime I would have an audition or anytime I needed to work on dialogue or anything, I somehow ended up back at Brian’s house, and it just got worse and worse and worse and worse.”

He continued: “The abuse was extensive, and it got pretty brutal.

“I don’t know how to elaborate on that on camera, really… Why don’t you think of the worst stuff that someone could do to somebody as a sexual assault, and then I’ll answer your question.

“I don’t know how else to put it.”
