Former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell recently took to Instagram to call out Twin Peaks actress Kimmy Robertson for writing a support letter for his abuser, Brian Peck. Bell, who was a victim of Peck, shared screenshots of Robertson's Instagram posts where she posed with Peck and wrote about their friendship.
In the letter written in 2004, Robertson described Peck as a close friend and defended his character, urging the judge to see the truth of the situation. This support letter came to light through court documents exposed on Reddit and Business Insider.
Bell had previously revealed his experience of being sexually assaulted by Peck in the docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV. Peck, an acting coach, was arrested in 2003 on charges of child sexual abuse and was sentenced to jail in 2004.
Despite the conviction, Peck received support from 41 friends and family members, including well-known figures, who wrote letters on his behalf. These letters were unsealed in 2023 by a producer of the docuseries.
The Los Angeles Police Department's press release from 2003 detailed Peck's arrest for lewd acts with a child, which occurred while he was coaching a 15-year-old star. The investigation began after the victim's family reported the abuse.
Bell recounted the abuse he suffered at Peck's hands, stating that the assaults were extensive and brutal. He described waking up to Peck assaulting him and feeling frozen and shocked by the situation.
The revelations from Bell and the unsealed support letters have brought renewed attention to the case and shed light on the disturbing behind-the-scenes activities in the entertainment industry.
