Drake bags $2.3million after betting on Kansas City Chiefs to win Super Bowl

Drake hit the jackpot with a jaw-dropping seven-figure windfall after betting big on the Kansas City Chiefs to clinch victory at the Super Bowl.

The rapper is no stranger to the high-stakes world of sports betting, often seen putting his money where his mouth is, particularly in the adrenaline-fueled arena of UFC.

Sunday’s Super Bowl was no exception, with Drake once again rolling the dice on a colossal $1.15 million (£1.1 million) bet.

When the Canadian hitmaker first announced his bet on Saturday, Drake said his choice all came down to his faith in Taylor Swift and her boyfriend, Kanas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

He wrote alongside a photo of his wager on Instagram: “I can’t bet against the swifties @stake.”

Just before the game on Sunday, the Grammy winner posted a screenshot of his wager and teased plans to give away part of his potential win - more than $2.3million (£1.8 million) - at his concert at St. Louis, Missouri’s Enterprise Center.

He wrote: “If I win somebody getting super blessed at the show tmrw.”

In an electrifying overtime showdown at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium, the Chiefs secured their second consecutive Super Bowl triumph and their third in just five years, dashing the hopes of the San Francisco 49ers in a nail-biting finale.

Drake went on to share footage of his jubilant celebration at home.

“Got ‘em, though. Got ‘em!” he said in a video posted to Instagram.

This marks Drake's second consecutive year accurately predicting the Super Bowl champion, following his lucrative win the previous year when the Kansas City Chiefs bested the Philadelphia Eagles in a thrilling showdown in Arizona.

As the team were confirmed winners, Swift joined Kelce on the pitch - hugging and kissing her boyfriend in celebration of their historic win.

The pop superstar made a mad dash from Japan, where she’d performed at the Tokyo Dome as part of her Eras Tour, to get to Las Vegas in time to watch match.

Despite the potential jeopardy, Swift arrived at the stadium in good time. She was joined by actress Blake Lively, rapper Ice Spice and her mother Andrea Swift in the stands.

During the match, the Shake It Off singer was seen talking to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, while Kelce’s mother Donna was also sitting in the box and his brother Jason opted for Chiefs-themed overalls.
