Drake and Josh star made 'stupid' Met Gala decision

A Drake and Josh star made a 'stupid' decision about the Met Gala.

Josh Peck, best known for his role in Nickelodeon show Drake and Josh, revealed on his podcast while chatting to Hilary Duff that he made a 'stupid' decision about the Met Gala. He explained that he rejected an invite to the prestigious event years ago, and has not been invited since.

The Met Gala is an annual fundraising ball for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and is presided over by Vogue editor Anna Wintour. The event is known for all the famous faces who attend, usually in elaborate outfits to match the theme each year.

Josh Peck spoke with Lizzie McGuire star Hilary Duff when she was a guest on his podcast, Good Guys. He said: "This is a humble brag, except it's so me. You know I turned down an invitation to the Met Gala?"

Hilary Duff said: "You did not" and he added: "Yeah, when I was 23 years old." She said: "What were you thinking" and he said: "I don't know, no one talks to me. And I'll never get invited, I'm blacklisted now".

Peck is currently 36, so at 23 he was like invited to the 2010 Met Gala, where he could have rubbed shoulders with famous faces like Chris Pine, Emma Watson, and Thandiwe Newton. The theme that year was focused on American women, so many wore outfits from American female designers, and most were dressed in red, white, or blue.

Duff goes on to ask what his wife, cinematographer Paige O'Brien, has to say about his decision. He said: "She's mortified."

Posting the clip on TikTok, people were in stitches in the comments. One person said: "Prob won't get another invite" and another said: "how do you turn down an invite to the met gala!!!?".
