Drew Cockton shared an inspirational bit of advice in his final social media post days before he died aged 36.
The Dragons' Den star explained how people must "feel comfortable to open up about their lives outside work without fear of judgement".
The words were part of a quote he had provided to the Growth Platform. Alongside an image of his smiling face, Drew's comments read: "Businesses big and small should be encouraging their staff to feel comfortable about being their true and authentic selves.
"This has been proven by economists to boost productivity and profitability, so from an economic as well as moral viewpoint there is the impetus to do so.
"Simple things such as taking the time to learn which pronouns your staff members want to use and creating an environment in which they feel comfortable to open up about their lives outside work without fear of judgement is key."
Paris Hilton was among those taking to the post following news of his death. She wrote: "Devastated to hear the news of my friend & #LittleHilton @mrowendrew. He was so kind with a heart of gold. My heart breaks for his loved ones & family. Sending them all my condolences & so much love. RIP sweet soul. Love you forever my friend."
Drew's death was announced in a Facebook post by his mother Kate on Sunday. According to the Liverpool Echo, the statement read: "We are truly, utterly heartbroken to have to tell you that our beloved Drew Peter George Cockton (my gorgeous boy) died peacefully at home yesterday.
"We are devastated beyond belief. Life is never, ever going to be the same again. Rest Peacefully darling boy."
The entrepreneur had been awarded a £50,000 investment last year after his pitch on popular TV show Dragons' Den. His business, Owen Drew, received the backing from Touker Suleyman.
The scented candle business, which he founded in 2017, soared after his appearance on the show.
During his candle-making career, Drew was on hand to create the world's most expensive candle to celebrate Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's nuptials in 2018 after details of the Duchess of Sussex's floral arrangements was released.
The candle retails for £750 and contains some of the most expensive oils and perfumes in the world.
