Dragons' Den's Steven Bartlett told he's 'made it' as he reacts to ITV Coronation Street swooning scenes

Steven Bartlett probably wasn't expecting a shout-out on Coronation Street but he certainly got one anyway.

Fans are likely to recognise the businessman and entrepreneur from Dragons' Den. He made history for being the youngest ever dragon on the BBC reality show at 28 when he signed up and was 29 when the show went to air earlier this year.

The founder and former CEO of social media marketing agency The Social Chain, which he set up from his bedroom in Manchester, also hosts the successful podcast, Diary of a CEO, and published his own book, the Sunday Times bestseller Happy Sexy Millionaire. And it appears the people of Weatherfield know exactly who Steven is as he got a mention in Monday night's hour-long trip to the cobbles.

In the opening scene of the ITV soap, Amy Barlow was seen trying to convince her granddad, Ken, to let her have her inheritance left to her by her grandma Deidre to fund her university degree, knowing this goes against her mum and dad's wishes.

But she also ended up educating the Corrie icon on the multimillionaire’s name. "Grandad, this is the day," 18-year-old Amy, played by Elle Mulvaney, started. "I'd rather be pitching to Steven Bartlett but you can't have everything," she added in the cafe which raised a smile with Shona Platt.

"Steven who?" Ken, played by William Roache, replied as Amy tried to explain: "You know Steven Bartlett, happy sexy millionaire. Founded an empire from his student flat in Manchester,’ the teenager quipped while referencing the BBC star’s Sunday Times bestseller.

Ken was still none the wiser but Shona wanted in on the conversation as she swooned: "Oh, I like him. He’s got an old soul and the body of a young God," as she looked into the distance before taking a deep breath.

As her two customers looked at her slightly bewildered, she realised her Steven daydreaming had been clocked and said: "Sorry, you crack on!"

And Steven was aware of his mention and shared a picture he took of his screen on his Instagram Story with an embarrassed face emoji.

He then shared the clip on Twitter, writing: ‘Ummm excuse me what???? This really weirded me out … and I don’t know why was sent to me on Whatsapp by a friends mum." But fans were loving it.

@bobtap29 replied to Steven: "You know you’ve made it when you get a mention on Corrie! How much did you pay for the old soul, body of a god line?! . Least you won’t forget the name of that show."

"You've definitely made it once you are on Corrie," @cabbagecaff agreed.

@danmurrayserter commented: "Hahaha omg that is absolutely brilliant."

"They need to invite you on as yourself to invest in Underworld and take it international," @Dan_ielle19 joked.
