Drag Race winner The Vivienne's rise to fame ahead of her All Stars debut

Drag superstar The Vivienne went from a club host to Netflix star and drag legend all in just a few years.

From humble beginnings on Stanley Street to becoming one of the biggest drag artists in the world, The Vivienne has had quite a journey. Despite her rapid rise to fame, she's worked endlessly to get there.

While the world knows her as a drag superstar, Liverpool natives may be more familiar with her as a 'gay town' host and DJ. Taking on multiple bars across the scene, The Vivienne was capable of taking on any room be it with her sharp tongue or backlog of bangers on the decks.

Before her stint on RuPaul's Drag Race, she was crowned as the official Drag Race Ambassador for the UK in 2016. This was part of a process to bring the series to Britain and saw Rupaul crown her after a private competition was held. Prizes for winning the title included a special appearance on series eight of the show where she can be seen in the audience on the episode titled 'New Wave Queens.'

in 2017, The Vivienne was honoured for her work in the clubs with her very own comedy roast. A host of friends, comedians and other drag artists took to the Superstar Boudoir to not only slander her but to have a good time doing it. It was a part of her farewell as she took time off to move to Gran Canaria.

Landing in Gran Canaria, she took up residency in showbar Sparkles where she performed multiple nights a week. During her time in the Canary Islands she met her now-husband, David Ludford. They married in 2019 in London at world-renowned nightclub, G-A-Y's Heaven.

In 2019, RuPaul's Drag Race officially announced The Vivienne would be competing in the UK franchise, bringing her increased international fame. After what felt like a clean sweep of the competition, she was crowned the UK's first drag superstar. She received a crown and sceptre and began her 'reign' by taking on every venue across the UK before jetting off all over the world.

Whilst not winning a cash prize from the show, The Vivienne has been offered a seat on multiple others. Appearing across ITV, the BBC and more, she's starred in the likes of Celebrity Juice, The Great British Sewing Bee, The Weakest Link and Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway along with many more. She also travelled to Hollywood to produce a digital series The Vivienne Takes on Hollywood which birthed her first single titled Tonight.

In collaboration with BPerfect Cosmetics, she dropped an eye-shadow pallet in 2021. The Sceptre pallet included over 30 colours and was featured alongside a glamorous promotional video.

Recently she partnered with All Star winner Monet X Change for Netflix's I Like To Watch series which was celebrated by fans across the world. She also appeared in an etiquette class with Monet as promotional material for the latest series of Bridgerton. Keeping it online, she has also guest-starred on multiple other shows such as The Pit Stop and Fashion Photo Review.

Just this week she was announced as a contestant for series seven of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars which will see previous winners compete against each other. Airing May 20, it will no doubt boost what is an already phenomenal career.
