RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne says she has been subjected to a violent homophobic attack in a McDonald’s this afternoon.
But the 31-year-old – the first drag queen to appear on Dancing On Ice earlier this year - claims she was punched at the branch in Edge Lane, Merseyside.
Police were called to the fast food restaurant after the entertainer, real name James Lee Williams, was 'struck' by a member of the public.
She says she was attacked in front of women and children as fans rushed to check in on the telly favourite.
"Just been attacked in McDonald’s, Police on way. Homophobia alive and well folks!" The Vivienne tweeted.
"First time I’ve never retaliated in a fight because I’m not gonna punch somebody in front of kids and women. #pieceofs**t."
She provided an update and thanked staff for coming to her aid.
"Thank you all for you concern, the police have been great and I believe the culprit has been been found," she told her followers.
"Two lovely ladies just came and complimented my hair and said I look lovely, what a stark contrast of people we have on this planet! All in a day huh? A punch and a compliment.
"Huge thank you to the fantastic staff at @McDonaldsUK Edge Lane who acted fast and removed the idiot from the premises and did everything in their power to make sure I was ok and waited for police with me."
She added: "HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!"
Mirror Online have approached Merseyside Police for comment.
Earlier this year she explained how a decision to move abroad changed her life.
Six years ago, she made a make-or-break move to Gran Canaria after getting hooked on drugs while working in Liverpool’s club scene.
Medics feared she could die from her addiction to ketamine after she was hospitalised three times in a month. It left The Vivienne, vowing to change.
“Some guys I knew from Gran Canaria... asked me to do a gig in Pride,” recalled The Vivienne.
“I did it, I was there for a week and I felt like myself and I hadn’t touched anything for a week.”
The Vivienne sought help from an NHS centre in Liverpool. But it was the 2017 move to the island and met future husband David Ludford that helped transform her life.
