The Arizona Cardinals have two selections in the first round of the NFL draft. It is exciting for fans. However, with one of their picks sitting at No. 27 overall, it actually depends on whether there are enough prospects they have graded as being worth a first-round pick.
According to Draft Wire’s Curt Popejoy, there might not be first-round talents left when the Cardinals select with the 27th pick in the draft.
He has only 20 prospects with a first-round grade.
How do the numbers break down?
The 20 players include:
- Three quarterbacks
- Three receivers
- Six offensive linemen
- Two edge defenders
- Two defensive linemen
- Four cornerbacks
What does this mean for the Cardinals? Assuming they have similar grades on players, all their first-round talents might be off the board when the Cardinals pick. If that were to happen we should expect them to trade out of the pick.
Be prepared for a wild first round.
