Diet and weight loss expert doctor Michael Mosley has shared three fruits people should avoid if they're trying to lose a few pounds.
While fruits are often thought of as a healthy and vitamin-filled snack or ingredient, the founder of the 5:2 diet has taken to Instagram to share which fruits could be hindering weight loss.
Though snacking on fruit is usually encouraged for dieters, Dr Michael suggests there are some slimmers should "avoid", the Express
reports.

Fruits such as pineapple, mango and melon may be delicious, but these "sweet" treats should be limited, he said. Instead, the weight loss expert revealed that slimmers should be enjoying berries, apples and pears.
This is because these contain "less sugar", and sugar is something slimmers should be limiting on his weight loss regime. Another aspect of "cutting right down on sugar" is limiting sugary drinks, desserts, treats and sugar itself.
Dessert does not have to be totally banished however, with the expert recommending a square of dark chocolate or berries.
While they're super quick and easy to reach for, breakfast cereals are typically "laden with sugar" and should be avoided. Rolled oats (not instant) are a better alternative as they contain more fibre and less sugar.
Finally, Dr Michael advised slimmers to avoid low-fat products, as high fats will "keep you satiated". As for which foods dieters should stack their fridges and shelves with, the expert recommends "starting the day with eggs".
