Dr Alex George says 'he'd do anything to have beer with late brother' in birthday tribute

Dr Alex George has paid tribute to his late brother Llŷr George on what would have been his 21st birthday.

The reality TV star, 31, tragically lost his youngest brother in 2020, following the teenager's struggle with his mental health. He was just 19 years old at the time of his death.

The Love Island alum has since campaigned for better support for those with mental health issues and even became the UK's first Youth Mental Health Ambassador.

And he has continued to keep the memory of his sibling alive, including in a poignant post which he uploaded this morning, on what would have been Llŷr's 21st birthday.

Alongside the footage, Dr Alex said in a written tribute that he had spoken a lot about losing his brother in the past, so he wanted to now talk "about the person he was."

He wrote: "Over the last I've spoken a lot about how hard losing him has been. I'm sad though that I haven't talked more about the person he was. Let me tell you a little about him."

He said that they "used to speak for hours about the latest cars" and added that his brother "loved his sport so much," revealing that he would score try and try in rugby at school.

Llŷr was described as a "perfectionist at heart," with his brother sharing that he used to practice shooting at the net "for hours each evening" when he got into basketball.

The recent post concluded with Dr Alex addressing his late brother directly, with him writing: "I would do anything to be sat drinking a cold beer with you today for your 21st my boy."
