Dr Alex George hits back at cruel 'fat shamers' as he strips topless for gym selfie

Dr Alex George has hit back at cruel fat shamers in his latest Instagram post.

The former Love Island star, who serves as the UK Youth Mental Health Ambassador, ignored the critics as he stripped topless for a mirror selfie at the gym over the weekend.

He looked great in the photo, as he showed off his body with fans.

Alex, 30, penned that he is "not ashamed anymore" over how his physique has changed since appearing on Love Island with a six-pack.

He wrote alongside the snap: "MOVEMENT IS FOR EVERY BODY. Fat shaming and weight stigma can be such a barrier to exercise. Over the years I have felt embarrassed and nervous to train in the gym when I'm bigger.

"I AM NOT ASHAMED ANYMORE. Don't forget that you deserve to be in that gym as much as anyone else. If people judge you for how you look that says far more about them than you. I know who I would rather be friends with."

Dr Alex also shared the post on his Story, thanking fans for their kind words and support.

"Good to see so much positivity. Love who you are. Love your own skin," he said.

He shot to fame back in 2018 when he appeared on the dating series.

Alex also shared another encouraging snap earlier this week during his holiday to Mauritius.

The TV star and frontline worker wrote: "Define a BEACH BODY? Beach [tick emoji] Body [tick emoji] Be proud of the skin you live in.

"Zero shame x, And yes, I have factor 50 on."

In recent months, Dr Alex got a tattoo tribute to his late brother Llŷr.

Alongside the snap he penned: "This ones for you my boy. After losing Llŷr, I have wanted to pay a permanent tribute to him and what he means to me.

"I miss him every single day. Video is now on my YouTube channel, link is in my bio x."

Friends and fans were quick to comment on the Instagram post, with one saying: "Sending you so much love mate."

Another penned: "I did the same for my brother."

While a third said: "This is amazing. What a tribute."

And a fourth wrote: "Good on you Alex. I have one on my arm dedicated to my late dad. Thinking of you bud."
