A SMALL number of people were in attendance at Glasgow Cathedral to see King Charles’s coronation screened live on Saturday morning.
The ceremony was shown on large screens at the historic building, while it was also livestreamed at Edinburgh’s West Princes Street Gardens.
Footage from Glasgow Cathedral showed a small turnout to mark the occasion.
Dozens of locals and foreign supporters of the monarchy joined the event, with some waving Union flags.
A significant number of seats were left empty throughout the event.
“Pity it wasn’t publicised more,” wrote one attendee who praised the “lovely setting”.

Drew Currie, who brought his two children to watch the occasion, told the Daily Record of his disappointment at the turnout.
"I decided that I wanted the kids to experience the Coronation more than anything else. My dad, who is 79, experienced the Queen's Coronation and tells stories of that so I wanted to make sure my kids could remember this one too,” he explained.
"It's a gorgeous building - it's lovely to be here to mark the occasion. The turn out is a little bit disappointing but a lot of people must have decided to watch it from home.”
Meanwhile 74-year-old Matthew Trainer added that he was “surprised that there is so few people here”, but remarked that it was “fantastic” to attend anyway.
