Downton Abbey's Elizabeth McGovern says she taught Brad Pitt how to kiss

Downton Abbey star Elizabeth McGovern has claimed she taught Brad Pitt how to kiss and 'made him the man he is' today.

The pair starred together in the 1994 romantic comedy The Favor where they shared a passionate onscreen snog.

Elizabeth, 58, opened up about her time working with the then up and coming actor in a game of dare with her Downtown co-stars Michelle Dockery, Hugh Bonneville and Allen Leech for Kelly Clarkson's talk show.

Host Kelly described the game as a 'sophisticated version of Never Have I Ever.'

Hugh went first, lifting his tea cup and saying: "Sip it and spill it if you've ever snogged Brad Pitt."

Elizabeth took a gulp of her tea and proudly raised her hand.

"Somebody had to. I did it as a paid job because we were on set acting," she explained.

"What a beautifully paid job!" exclaimed Kelly.

"Yes. There are worse ways to earn a living, so I was not complaining. But yes, he cut his teeth with me, I think. I made him the man that he is. He's learned everything from me!'"

Brad and Jen went on to marry in 2000 before splitting five years later.

While Elizabeth is happily married to British film director and producer Simon Curtis, with whom she shares two daughters Matilda and Grace.

In January this year Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes hinted a second movie could be in the pipeline.

The ITV drama's move to the big screen was met by huge critical and commercial success.

When asked about a follow up, Fellowes said 'not until I've finished the scripts for The Gilded Age', in reference to the HBO series he has been working on.
