Dow Schofield Watts hires new corporate finance manager

Advisory firm Dow Schofield Watts has expanded its Edinburgh office with the appointment of Adam Widerkiewicz as corporate finance manager.

Joining from EDF Renewables with nine years' of finance experience, he was a mergers and acquisitions specialist, helping the company to build its ‘green energy’ business in the UK.

Widerkiewicz started his career at EY, before working in corporate finance at Deloitte, where he was involved in deals including the sale of Vets Now to IVC Group and that of translation company Lingo24 to Unbabel - as well as a Series A funding round for Broker Insights from a group of investors led by Mercia.

At Dow Schofield Watts, he will be advising businesses on acquisitions, disposals and raising funds for growth.

Adam said: “It is exciting to be joining a fast-growing challenger firm - it will not only give me the chance to work with many high-growth Scottish businesses and help them with their growth plans, but also open up new opportunities for career progression.”

Tom Faichnie, senior partner of Dow Schofield Watts Scotland, added: “Adam’s experience in corporate finance and in particular in the renewables and technology sectors - two of the biggest growth areas in the Scottish economy - make him a welcome addition to our team.

“His appointment comes as we continue to build our team following the launch of Edinburgh and Glasgow offices earlier this year.”

Dow Schofield Watts Scotland was launched in 2018 in Aberdeen, as local firm Hall Morrice Corporate Finance became part of the wider group.

All of the firm's directors resigned from the board, leaving founders co-founder Tom Faichnie and Melanie Clark as directors of the business.

The national Dow Schofield Watts network, established in 2002, has more than 80 professionals based in offices in Aberdeen, Edinburgh the north west of England, Leeds, London and Reading.

The group provides a range of professional services, including corporate finance, transaction services, business recovery, management and strategy, tax advisory, forensic services, debt advisory and wealth management.
