Dour Adam Silver Looked So Unenthused About NBA All-Star Game Scoring Record

Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game returned to its classic matchup this year, with the Eastern Conference opposing the Western Conference in Indianapolis. There were no teams drafted, and scores didn’t reset after each quarter. And some fans were left more disappointed than ever

The East pulled out a 211–186 victory in what was essentially a two-hour layup line. Few shots were contested as the best players in the world gave little to no defensive effort. The Eastern Conference broke the record for most points in an All-Star Game, but seemingly no one was impressed—not even Adam Silver.

The NBA commissioner appeared completely unenthused when mentioning the record after the game.

“And to the Eastern Conference All-Stars, you scored the most points … well … congratulations,” Silver deadpanned.

The winning squad shot 56.8% from the field and only visited the charity stripe four times. Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard was named the game’s MVP for his team-high 39 points and 11 three-pointers made.
