Former President Trump recently criticized Vice President Kamala Harris after she launched her presidential campaign, giving her nicknames like 'Laughin' Kamala' and 'Lyin' Kamala' on his social media platform Truth Social. In response, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff clapped back at Trump, expressing his disbelief at the former president's comments about his wife.
Emhoff highlighted Vice President Harris' strong stance against Trump, emphasizing her clear vision for the future that focuses on freedom and moving away from the divisive environment created by Trump. He mentioned that Harris has already secured enough delegates to secure the Democratic Party's nomination, setting the stage for a compelling campaign ahead.
Emhoff reiterated the campaign's commitment to prosecuting the case against Trump, citing his lies, gaslighting during COVID, dereliction of duty, and incitement of insurrection. He emphasized the need to shift away from the restrictive environment created by Trump and towards a future where freedoms and autonomy are respected.
Since the launch of her campaign, Harris has seen a surge in fundraising, raising a record-breaking $81 million in the first 24 hours and reaching $100 million within a day. The campaign received contributions from over 888,000 grassroots donors, with a significant portion making their first contribution of the 2024 election cycle. Additionally, 43,000 donors signed up for recurring donations, showcasing strong grassroots support for Harris.
Emhoff praised the enthusiasm and excitement surrounding Harris' campaign, noting the broad base of support she has garnered in a short period. He highlighted Harris' ability to unite the Democratic Party and expressed confidence in her ability to unite the country and secure victory in the upcoming election.
