On Tuesday, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff visited battleground Arizona to campaign for his wife, Vice President Kamala Harris. He expressed gratitude towards Republicans who have chosen to support the Democratic presidential ticket, emphasizing the importance of putting country over party.
During a 'Republicans for Harris volunteer appreciation event' in Mesa, Emhoff acknowledged the significance of the upcoming election, referring to it as the most crucial in both individual and national lifetimes. He commended attendees for prioritizing core American values and principles, despite potential policy disagreements.
Emhoff specifically thanked members of the Church of Latter-day Saints, a key voting bloc in Arizona, for their recognition of the values at stake in the election. Mesa Mayor John Giles, a lifelong Republican and leader of Arizona Republicans for Harris, highlighted the positive impact of the Biden-Harris administration on his conservative community.
Giles, who also spoke at the Democratic National Convention, emphasized the importance of voter turnout in determining the election outcome. He stressed the need for both parties to mobilize their supporters effectively to secure victory.
The event underscored the bipartisan support that the Democratic ticket has garnered in Arizona, with individuals from diverse political backgrounds coming together to prioritize the well-being of the nation over partisan divides.
