(Picture: PA)A double murder investigation has been launched after a man and woman were found dead miles apart with one found at home in a picturesque Cotswolds village.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Cheltenham Police said a car park had been sealed off at 6.20am following the discovery of a body of a man.
Later, 15 miles away, a woman’s body was discovered at a home in Bourton-on-the-Water.
The area is described as ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ due to the number of bridges across the River Windrush.
Those involved in the incident are known to each other and officers are not currently seeking anyone else in connection, police said.
The force said: “An investigation was launched and the body of a woman was also later located at an address in Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswolds.
“The Major Crime Investigation Team is in the early stages of an investigation and officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to make contact with police.
“Those involved in the incident are known to each other and officers are not currently seeking anyone else in connection.
“Investigating officers are also keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam or CCTV footage that could be relevant to the investigation.”
