A £200,000 film studio has opened in Bournemouth.
The Motion Studio, a self-contained 64 sq m facility on Francis Avenue near the West Howe industrial estate, is the new venture of Dorset automation tech firm Motion Control Products.
Built from scratch, the space has been designed to help businesses and organisations wishing to market their products or services professionally, or to record training presentations or podcasts.
Motion Control Products’ managing director Steve McKay said he wanted the studio to help other local “and not so local” businesses to get a taste of the digital marketing world.
Mr McKay said: “This is very much a new era for marketing and it won’t be long before such quality presentations will be demanded by most customers. It’s also a hugely cost-effective way of selling worldwide.
“We want to ensure we remain ahead of the game and fully immersed in the digital age and provide the best possible service in a completely innovative way – leading broadcasters have visited and praised our set-up.”
The studio is equipped with five cameras, “television quality” lighting, a mixing desk, control room, teleprompter and large SMART Board, as well as kitchen, lounge and shower facilities. The facility employs a team of engineers who operate all the equipment and edit recordings.
Motion Control Products has been trading for more than 25 years, with tech engineering services to clients in a range of sectors from surveillance and defence, food and beverage and packaging. It also as offices in Hong Kong and the US.
