A pizza oven manufacturing firm in Dorset has appointed a former boss at workwear giant Dickies as its new chief executive.
Christchurch-based Gozney, which designs outdoor pizza ovens for homes and restaurants, has hired the clothing company’s former global brand president Denny Bruce to assist with its further expansion into international markets.
Launched by founder Tom Gozney in 2010, the firm has grown into a $100m business with offices in the US and China. The company said it had seen a 93% rise in revenue over the last year, and was planning to enter new markets including Norway and Sweden, as well as wholesale launches in Germany and Australia.
Mr Bruce, who has been promoted after three years on the company’s board of directors, will lead the business alongside Mr Gozney, who is moving to the role of executive chairman in order to drive the company’s new product pipeline.
Mr Gozney said: “The business holds enormous potential on a global scale, and we feel Denny is the perfect partner to lead the team alongside me on this journey.
“As the brand enters a new phase of growth and expansion, Denny will unite our international teams to drive a consistent global experience that brings to life our mission to change the way the world cooks outdoors.”
Gozney said that Mr Bruce, who has also previously held senior sales positions with global brands such as Vans and Skullcandy headphones, had tripled profits at Dickies during his three years with the firm.
Mr Bruce said: “I feel honoured to join Gozney at such an exciting time. Gozney is a dynamic, innovative brand that has carved out a truly unique position in the market.”
He added: “I can’t wait to combine a proven playbook for scaling Global brands with Tom’s obsession to build remarkable products.”
