A door was ripped off a plane causing damage at Dublin Airport following an airbridge collapse at Terminal 2, the daa has revealed.
The incident, which occurred this Sunday at the capital airport, led to damage to the American Airlines (AA) Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
It is understood that N812AA was preparing to depart to Philadelphia when the incident occurred. Current reports say that nobody was injured as a result of the airbridge collapse.

The Irish Independent reported that the Air Accident Investigation Unit, which operates as part of the Department of Transport, did not need to carry out a review, as no passengers or airline staff were injured.
Despite the disturbance, the airbridge collapse did not lead to any delays for incoming or outgoing flights this afternoon, only the flight connected to the aircraft that had arrived from Chicago and was subsequently damaged.
It is a AA Boeing 787-8, registered as N812AA. Itt is 7.6 years old, and Boeing delivered it to AA in Dec 2015.
A report from the airport said that the Jetbrigde ripped off the AA 787 door, which could have been as a result of an aerobridge structure malfunction.
Following this incident, flight AA723 was cancelled as the aircraft is severely damaged and might need to be grounded for maintenance.
Dublin Airport also told passengers this weekend that their car parks are all now fully booked up.
In a statement on Facebook, they said: "All of our car parks are sold out over the coming days. Those without a booking should plan to travel to the airport via an alternate method such as by bus, taxi or drop-off by a friend or relative."
