After an ugly stretch at the beginning of the season, the Chicago Bulls have turned their season around. They are firmly in the mix for a playoff spot this year, but their chances of making a deep playoff run seem low. Despite that, they didn’t do anything at the deadline. And fans aren’t too happy about it.
However, while Chicagoans could be annoyed that the team didn’t make a move at the deadline, there is one clear positive to this season – Coby White. The 24-year-old point guard has taken a massive leap this season and is now one of the best players on the team.
After the Bulls’ recent loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Donovan Mitchell showed love to White, stating that he should be in serious consideration for the Most Improved Player award. (H/t Stephen Beslic of Bulls News)
“He’s gotten better. To see the growth, the confidence. You can see it in his eyes,” Mitchell said. There’s the look like he belongs here. He deserves to be playing like this. I have the utmost respect for his game and for him. He’s up there in that (Most Improved Player) conversation, for sure.”
So far this season, White is averaging 19.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists while shooting 46.3% from the field and 39.7% from beyond the three-point arc.
