Donny van de Beek transfer latest: Man United player 'upset', Crystal Palace and Valencia links

Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek could be allowed to leave the club before next week's crucial deadline day.

The 24-year-old was brought to England back in the summer of 2020, but has since failed to nail down a solid run of games in a United shirt.

Making just four starts for the Reds this season, the former Ajax academy graduate is rumoured to be of interest to a number of clubs, but time is ticking on the January window.

With three years still left on his current United deal too, it is thought the club would be open to allowing the Dutch midfielder to leave Old Trafford on loan this month.

Here’s all the latest on van de Beek and his potential move away from United this month...

Who wants to sign him?

After initially being offered to both Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund, Crystal Palace looks the most likely destination for van de Beek.

Tottenham were also said to be potentially interested in the former Ajax man, but Patrick Vieira's side still remain hot favourites to land the Dutchman on a loan deal until the end of the 21/22 campaign. Valencia have also been linked,

With manager Ralf Rangnick insisting 'hard work' is the only recipe for the 24-year-old to earn his place in the team, the midfielder would provide another option for Vieira's youthful looking starting XI.

What is United's current stance?

With van de Beek said to be 'upset' over the dealing of the supposed loan move, Rangnick has remained tight-lipped over the Dutchman's future at the club.

Having failed to start a single Premier League game so far this season, Van de Beek has shown his frustration already, as he threw away his gum angrily following being left on the bench as United made changes against Villarreal.

As the United hierarchy try to best balance their squad around Rangnick following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's departure, many believe the midfielder should be allowed a chance in a United shirt. Rangnick has suggested Van de Beek will stay and compete for a place.

What will happen?

It is unlikely we will see the Netherlands midfielder leave United permanently in this window, or in the summer, unless the club receive a sizeable transfer offer.

But with uncertainty still over who will be at the helm next season too, Van de Beek's situation at Old Trafford is not good and a loan move would seem to benefit all parties.
