Manchester United could reportedly look to use Donny van de Beek as a makeweight in a deal as they look to improve their midfield.
According to a report by Italian outlet CMW, United are prepared to offer the Dutchman to AC Milan in a swap deal for Ismael Bennacer. The 24-year-old has excelled since joining Milan in 2019 and is reportedly attracting plenty of attention from the Premier League, including United.
It is reported that the Italian giants want £38million for his signature this summer. But United are prepared to offer them Van de Beek in the hope they will be required to pay less cash upfront.

Elsewhere, Cristiano Ronaldo's options as he seeks a move away from United are seriously dwindling, with Atletico Madrid the latest side to have reportedly withdrawn.
After Bayern Munich rejected the chance to make a move and Chelsea reportedly pulled out of the pursuit, Atletico are understood to have decided they are not in a position to offer him a deal. Marca say the Spanish club do not have the finances to support a transfer.
