Donny van de Beek is expected to push for a move away from Old Trafford next summer after a 'nightmare' move to Manchester United. The Dutch international was once highly regarded as one of the next upcoming talents in Europe after a stellar few seasons with Ajax.
Under the tutelage of now Red Devils boss, Erik ten Hag, the midfielder made the big-move to Old Trafford in 2020. However, the 25-year-old has struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League and was linked with a move to St. James' Park last January.
The Magpies were tentatively linked with the Dutch midfielder, but a move to Everton was the avenue Van de Beek followed. Chronicle Live spoke with Manchester United reporter for the Manchester Evening News, Steven Railston, for an insight into how Van de Beek has fared since and whether Newcastle could go back in for the midfielder.

Railston said: "Donny van de Beek has endured a nightmare since moving to Manchester. His arrival was genuinely exciting two years ago, but he has not impressed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Michael Carrick, Ralf Rangnick or Ten Hag enough to start during the respective tenures of each manager. It seems he is just not good enough to start for Man United and his loan move to Everton was also disappointing.
"After struggling with injury, Van de Beek played under 500 minutes for Everton and his misfortune has continued into this season. He's currently injured with a muscle injury and, although Ten Hag has said that he can fight for his position, I'd say it's highly unlikely he will enjoy a career at Man United.
"I'd expect him to leave in the summer, if he doesn't push for an exit in the January window. Van de Beek seemed like a smart addition for Newcastle in January, but I don't think he'd currently get in their midfield."
