Donny van de Beek has committed to a Manchester United vow after returning from his short-term loan spell at Everton.
The midfielder was seen in a red shirt for the first time since his return in Tuesday’s 4-0 pre-season friendly win over Liverpool in Bangkok. Fans are hoping to see the best of the playmaker under Erik ten Hag, who nurtured him into a first-class talent at Ajax.
Van de Beek was shunned by both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick and eventually took up a short-term loan opportunity at Everton in January. He helped the club survive relegation, although he missed around two months with thigh problems.

Speaking to club media, the Netherlands international said he was “really happy to be back” with United and described playing for the club again as “a special feeling”. He summarised that his loan at Goodison Park was positive, despite the injury issues.
He said: “For my experience, I think [the Everton loan] was good. Obviously, I was a little bit unlucky with my injuries.
“I missed a lot of games but to have that experience… it was not an easy season for the team, because we played to avoid relegation, which is not what you want for a club like Everton, but, overall, it was a good experience to be there.”
Now back at United following their dismal 2021/22 campaign, Van de Beek pledged that the squad will “fight for everything” this time around. He also set out his ambitions for the season.
“I think making as many minutes personally, as I can,” he explained. “I think we need to improve as a team. If you’re looking at last season, we have a lot of things to improve and, if we work on that now, then we’ll see where we end up.”
