Donny van de Beek denies concern about Manchester United midfield depth after signings

Donny van de Beek has praised the arrival of new options at Manchester United following the summer transfer window.

Erik ten Hag was busy in his first window at United with six new additions being added to the squad. Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen, Casemiro, Antony and Martin Dubravka all arrived at the club before the deadline passed.

The new signings appear to have improved United on the pitch with Ten Hag's men having notched four straight victories in the league after a difficult opening two matches, which they lost. According to Van de Beek, it is important that United have these options ahead of a busy period of fixtures.

Speaking to United Review, the Dutch midfielder said: "That [a bigger squad] will help everyone. Having lots of options will keep everyone sharp, and for this we need lots of good players.

"I think it’s great to play many games. I love it when we play after a few days [another] game.

"I prefer more to have games than training sessions, so definitely I like it. That’s the way it should always be in a big club, and we need this to be successful and to have a strong team.

"I think it’s really good that we have it now." United will return to action on Thursday night when they travel to Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League.
