Donegal GAA 'reluctantly' accept Karl Lacey resignation

DONEGAL GAA have accepted former All-Ireland winner Karl Lacey’s resignation as the county’s Head of Academy.

In a lengthy statement released last night the Donegal County Board stated that they had “exhausted all avenues of mediation.”

Lacey was appointed to the post two years ago but resigned last month, with a mass walk out of academy coaches in a show of support for the Four Masters man.

The statement, from County Secretary, Declan Martin, said it had been “a difficult period” and that Donegal GAA had “reluctantly” accepted Lacey’s resignation.

Donegal GAA insist that any academy coach who resigned is “welcome to participate again” as they seek to be “best in class.”
