Donald Trump Survives Assassination Attempt, Royal Family Sends Support

Donald Trump Learning from 2016 loss, Trump taps data trove to turn out MAGA vote in Iowa

King Charles III recently sent a personal letter to Donald Trump following the former president's survival of an assassination attempt. The British monarch's private note was delivered via the UK embassy in Washington, DC, expressing sentiments in line with those conveyed by the UK Prime Minister. The Prime Minister had expressed shock at the attack and wished Trump and the injured individuals a swift recovery.

This is not the first instance of the royal family showing kindness to Trump. In 2019, Charles hosted Trump and his wife for tea at Clarence House, and Queen Elizabeth II hosted a state banquet for him during his UK visit that same year.

The assassination attempt on Trump occurred during an outdoor campaign rally in Butler, Pa., where he was wounded by a sniper. Trump described feeling the bullet piercing his skin, causing significant bleeding and necessitating immediate medical attention. The gunman, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, was swiftly neutralized by the Secret Service.

While Trump narrowly escaped the attempt on his life, firefighter Corey Comperatore tragically lost his life, and two other rally attendees sustained injuries. Melania Trump expressed gratitude for the protection provided by law enforcement, emphasizing the bravery of the Secret Service agents. Trump's family members, including Eric and Ivanka, also shared their appreciation for the swift actions of law enforcement and the outpouring of support.
