Donald Trump's Scottish golf course targeted in Gaza protest

ACTIVISTS have targeted one of Donald Trump’s Scottish golf courses in a protest over the US president’s position on Gaza.

Members of the group Palestine Action entered the Trump Turnberry site early on Saturday morning, digging up the greens and spray painting the words “Gaza is not for sale” across the lawn of the South Ayrshire course.

Activists said they targeted Trump’s golf course over the US administration’s plan “to ethnically cleanse Gaza”.

We told how the US president posted an AI video on social media of his vision for a "Riviera" which included images of him and Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu lounging by a hotel pool.

A spokesperson for Palestine Action said: “Palestine Action rejects Donald Trump's treatment of Gaza as though it were his property to dispose of as he likes.

“To make that clear, we have shown him that his own property is not safe from acts of resistance.

“We will continue to take action against US-Israeli colonialism in the Palestinian homeland.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.40am on Saturday, 8 March, 2025, we received a report of damage to the golf course and a premises on Maidens Road, Turnberry.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 0636 of 8 March, 2025.”

Speaking to journalists on Saturday, First Minister John Swinney condemned the vandalism of the golf course and pledged to meet the US president if he comes to Scotland, while reiterating “support for the people of Gaza”.

He said: “I believe it’s my obligation to engage with President Trump given the fact we have so many issues and interests that are shared with Scotland and the United States.”

Trump Turnberry has been contacted for comment.
