Donald Trump Clinches Republican Nomination For President

Donald Trump to testify in New York civil fraud trial

Donald Trump has officially clinched the Republican nomination for President of the United States by surpassing the delegate threshold. This projection comes after winning Washington state, solidifying his path towards a 2020 rematch.

With 1,215 delegates needed to secure the nomination, Trump has now reached 1,219 delegates. The allocation of 31 delegates from Washington state contributed to this milestone, with 12 more delegates yet to be assigned.

Having secured the Republican Party nomination for the third consecutive presidential election cycle, Trump's trajectory in this race has been dominant. He has won over 92% of the delegates up for grabs so far, showcasing overwhelming support within the party.

Trump's victory in Washington state further cements his position as the frontrunner, setting the stage for a highly anticipated 2020 election rematch. As the delegate count continues to favor Trump, his nomination appears to be a near certainty.
