Mr Trump previously confirmed that he had agreed to return certain records, calling it "an ordinary and routine process".
His statement says he has been "working and co-operating with the relevant government agencies" and describes the raid as "unannounced" and "not necessary or appropriate".
He claimed that the Palm Beach estate "is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents"
He alleged, without providing evidence to support his claim, that the raid on the resort was "prosecutorial misconduct", a "weaponisation of the justice system" and claimed it was part of efforts by his political rivals to stop him from running for president again in 2024.
The statement continued: "Such an assault could only take place in broken, Third-World Countries. Sadly, America has now become one of those Countries, corrupt at a level not seen before"
