Donald Trump was spotted having a windy Scottish entrance as he struggled to keep his infamous hair in place.
The former president and his son Eric stepped off their private jet at Aberdeen Airport just before 11am as they were greeted by two pipers, a red carpet and a 10-vehicle motorcade.
As the 76-year-old made his way down the steps to visit his resort at the nearby Menie Estate, the Scottish weather played havoc with his hair.
Mr Trump was keen to acknowledge the photographers and staff waiting for him - despite his hair looking windswept as he descended the plane steps.
He quickly made his entrance to the red carpet, saying: "It's great to be home - this was the home of my mother," before getting into one of his cars and zooming off to his golf resort among the sand dunes at Menie.
His mother Mary was born on Lewis in the Outer Hebrides before emigrating to the US.
Ahead of the visit, Mr Trump said he would be opening a "spectacular" second course on his Menie Estate at Balmedie in Aberdeenshire.
The Menie course opened in 2012, along with the construction of 550 homes on the estate, has not been popular among some of the locals in the northeastern Scottish region.
It has been blamed for damaging sand dunes at a site of special scientific interest.
As a result, conservationists urged Aberdeenshire council to deny permission for the second course but it has been constructed.
It remains unclear how long Mr Trump will stay in Scotland, but he is also expected to visit his other luxury Scottish golf course and hotel at Turnberry in South Ayrshire.
In addition, it is rumoured that he will follow in political rival Joe Biden’s recent steps and visit Ireland next, where he also has a golf resort.
The trip comes after he became the first US president in history to face a criminal trial.
He pleaded not guilty to charges of falsifying business records to hide damaging information ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
The claims centre around apparent hush money allegedly paid to adult film star, Stormy Daniels.
He has also called for a mistrial in a New York City rape case against him.
The former president has requested a mistrial in a civil case where the writer E. Jean Carroll is accusing him of rape and defamation Mr Trump dismisses all the various claims against him as a ‘witch-hunt’ launched by the Democrats to help prevent him returning to power in the 2024 US election.
