'Don't' - Tottenham fan makes amazing Mauricio Pochettino plea as Man Utd plot next manager move

Tottenham supporter Alex Ayears will be keeping a keen eye on Mauricio Pochettino's future over the coming months after paying the ultimate tribute to the former Spurs boss.

A huge fan of the work the head coach achieved during his five-and-a-half years in N17, Alex got the Argentine's surname tattooed on her leg for her birthday in November.

Perhaps raising a few eyebrows amongst family and friends in the process, three days later news soon started to emerge about the 49-year-old potentially taking on the Manchester United vacancy following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's dismissal.

That in turn led to Alex even penning an open letter to Pochettino on Twitter begging him not to depart Paris for Manchester.

A move didn't materialise in the end but his name continues to be linked with the Old Trafford hotseat, with the Manchester Evening News now reporting that the Red Devils could appoint their next permanent manager before the end of the season.

Even though Pochettino could possibly come up against Tottenham next season in the Premier League if he does take on the job, there are no regrets on Alex's part.

"The timing was a weird one, but it's something I've thought about getting for a little while," she revealed to football.london.

"I sounded out a few people on what they thought about it, but then ultimately just decided that I wanted it so I was going to get it anyway.

"It's because I just love Poch. I think he's Spurs through and through and Tottenham are very important to him.

"I just love what he did for us when he was our manager, he gave us some of the best years that we've had in a long, long time.

"I just thought 'why not get it now?' and I got it for my birthday on the 18th of November. I think it was three days later when he started getting linked to the Manchester United job!

"I don't regret the tattoo because I do still love him. If he does end up at Manchester United then I think he'd do a fantastic job and they'd be lucky to have him.

"The timing was just kind of crazy! There's a real chance he could be the next Manchester United manager and I've just got to deal with that, I guess.

"The text is in navy blue, so hopefully people will know the link.

"I'll still love him anyway. It's just slightly annoying more than anything that I chose now to get the tattoo done in the end."

Following Pochettino's exit from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in November 2019, Spurs are now on their third different permanent head coach following the failings of both Jose Mourinho and Nuno Espirito Santo.

Antonio Conte is now the man tasked with bringing the glory days back to Tottenham after his appointment at the start of November.

If he can indeed work his magic and end the club's barren run without a trophy then there is a nice spot just above Alex's Pochettino tattoo.

"I should say I do back Antonio Conte," she admitted. "His record with Chelsea was really good and I really hope for good things from him.

"I wouldn't rule out getting a Conte tattoo one day if he turns out to be really good for us. I've got room just above Poch's name now!"
