'Don't go the wrong side' - Man City fans unimpressed by Kevin De Bruyne Halloween costume

Kevin De Bruyne can do no wrong on the pitch for Manchester City - his spectacular free-kick against Leicester last weekend was the latest example of just how important he is to Pep Guardiola's side.

But off it, he has caused a little confusion among City supporters with his choice of Halloween costume. City's players enjoyed a day off on Sunday following their win on Saturday, and many headed to a Halloween party hosted by one of the players.

There was Erling Haaland dressed as a Viking/himself, Manuel Akanji dressed as an Egyptian Pharaoh and Kyle Walker the Spice Girl - the less said about that last one, the better.

Like his teammates, De Bruyne went all out on his outfit - a devil. Now, given the nickname of City's rivals Manchester United, you can imagine what some City fans thought of De Bruyne rocking up looking like Fred the Red.

Some City fans thought he was trolling United, and that appears to be what Sergio Aguero thought too. However, as one of De Bruyne's followers pointed out, the midfielder plays for the Belgian national team, whose nickname, like United, is The Red Devils.

Maybe Kevin can be excused then. Here's what City fans made of it on Instagram.

@adi_658: Is he joining Man United???

@rohanaamir2436: Best assister in the hell

@it.sm0g0: Humiliating the red devils in the Premier League was not enough, now he's making fun of them

@Langah_xaba: Belgium = Red Devils. He's not entertaining United, chill

@cece_xo2: Ayy, don't go the wrong side of Manchester
