Dominik Szoboszlai may well be keeping a close eye on the Premier League run in as he continues to be linked with a move away from RB Leipzig. The Hungarian national team captain has emerged as a Newcastle United target in recent months with his Bundesliga future up firmly in the air.
Reports in Szoboszlai's native Hungary this week suggest the attacking midfielder could become the top earner at St James' Park if the Magpies meet his €70m (£61m) release clause this summer. Though Newcastle's chances of signing the 22-year-old could depend heavily on whether Eddie Howe's side reach the Champions League this term.
Szoboszlai was quizzed over his Germany future at the weekend, where he refused to pledge his future to Leipzig and admitted he wanted to play Champions League football. "I'm definitely still with RB Leipzig for three games," he said after a 2-1 win over Werder Bremen.

"I'd like to play in the Champions League and would like to win my second trophy with RB Leipzig. We'll see what happens after the summer." Earlier, the midfielder rebutted a reporter's claim he had publicly announced his intention to stay with Leipzig.
The German high-flyers are likely to try and hold onto their attacking outlet given that team-mate Christopher Nkunku is set to join Chelsea this summer and club captain Dani Olmo continues to be linked with a move away from the Red Bull Arena.
Szoboszlai has helped himself to 18 goals and 22 assists in Germany's top flight and would be a welcome addition on Tyneside this summer. A £61m release clause is unlikely to deter Newcastle should they secure a top four finish this month.
Howe's side have their destiny in their own hands with three games remaining, though Brighton and Liverpool continue to try and mount a late push for the top four. Thursday's eagerly-anticipated St James' Park clash with the Seagulls will go a long way to determining how much Newcastle can spend on targets this summer.
