Dominik Szoboszlai looks all but set to become Liverpool FC's second signing of the summer.
The Hungary captain's release clause was officially triggered by the Reds on Friday evening after they had opened talks with RB Leipzig following productive discussions with the midfielder's representatives earlier in the week. Szoboszlai's terms expired on June 30 meaning Liverpool had to move quickly before the Bundesliga side were able to name their own price for an important member of the squad.
However, after activating the clause in the 22-year-old's deal, the Reds have been cleared to prepare a medical as Jurgen Klopp's midfield rebuild continues. Klopp is said to have been influential in Szoboszlai's decision to move to Anfield as the attacking midfielder is desperate to work under the German boss.

If Szoboszlai completes the move to the Reds as expected, he will be set to be joined in Merseyside by his long term partner, Fanni Gécsek. The two are both active on social media and regularly share updates of their happy relationship away from the pitch.
Szoboszlai's season with Leipzig ended on a high as he scored the second goal in a 2 - 0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt to win the German cup. Fanni was in attendance at Berlin's Olympiastadion to see her partner's goalscoring exploits and shared a snap on her social media channels as they posed with the trophy after the game.
Fanni is also a talented athlete as she competed in ITF tennis tournaments from 2017 - 2019. She regularly shared updates from her times on the court but now seems to have stepped aside from her tennis career to focus on being a model and influencer.
The 21-year-old has developed a large following on Instagram as she has built up 45,600 followers on the social media platform. The first update she shared alongside Szoboslai was when the midfielder made the move from RB Salzburg to Leipzig in December 2020.
Szoboszlai has enjoyed a successful stint at the Red Bull Arena as he has bagged 12 goals in 62 appearances and won two DFB-Pokal trophies.
