Dominik Szoboszlai FIFA 23 profile suggests Liverpool target boasts amazing potential

Liverpool are actively trying to make RB Leipzig's Dominik Szoboszlai their second signing of the summer, with the Hungarian's release clause close to expiring.

After a number of different reports caused speculation over Szoboszlai's release clause, it seems that as of July 1, Leipzig can name whatever price they want for their star player which would make a deal complicated from Liverpool's perspective. With this the case, the Reds are pushing to complete a deal for the 22-year-old today for £60million.

Liverpool club officials held talks with the Szoboszlai's representatives earlier this week, and his arrival would be the second of the summer so far for Jurgen Klopp's side following the capture of Alexis Mac Allister. Newcastle United were also strongly linked with the Hungary captain, though it appears the Magpies have pulled out of the race for his signature.

So, how does Szobszlai's compare to the rest of the Liverpool squad on FIFA 23? We assessed the 22-year-old's in-game profile on FIFA 23 to see how he fares against his potential future teammates.

Dominik Szoboszlai's FIFA 23 rating analysed

Overall rating: 81/99

Overall Potential: 87/99

Positions: CAM/LM/RM

Weak Foot: Four Star

Skill Moves: Four Star

Szoboszlai's current rating in FIFA 23 is 81 out of 99, which is two overalls higher than he was at release last year, showing the progress the 22-year-old has made throughout last season. This means the Hungarian is higher rated than Jordan Henderson (80), Mac Allister (80), Curtis Jones (77), Harvey Elliott (77) and Stefan Bajcetic (69), but still lower than the likes of Fabinho (85) and Thiago (85).

But, what makes Szoboszlai such a lucrative player is his high potential, with FIFA 23 predicting the 22-year-old to reach an overall rating of 87 out of 99. If the midfielder was to reach his potential, it would make him the fourth highest-rated player in the Liverpool squad, only behind Alisson (89), Mohamed Salah (89) and Virgil van Dijk).

Szoboszlai can play an array of positions with his main position the attacking midfield role, and he also boasts a four-star weak foot and skill move rating in FIFA 23, meaning the Hungarian is comfortable with both feet whilst also extremely skilful. The midfielder's best stats in-game are his curve (90), sprint speed (88), free-kick accuracy (87), shot power (87), long shots (87) and volleys (85).

Overall, Szoboszlai's FIFA 23 profile shows that the midfielder is already a fantastic player, but his potential rating suggests he could become one of the best in the Liverpool squad. Much more of an attacking threat than the Reds' current midfield options, Szoboszlai could offer Klopp a great deal in midfield with the potential to become even better.
